Apple Pandowdy
Ingredients
4 red apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup Brown sugar
2 teaspoons Cinnamon
10 ounces Butter
3/4 cup Granulated sugar
1 egg
2 1/3 cups Flour
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Milk
Directions
Pre-heat the oven to 350.
Lightly oil a 9-inch baking dish. Add the apples.
Sprinkle them with the brown sugar and cinnamon.
Cream the butter and granulated sugar together. Add the egg and mix well.
In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking powder and salt.
Alternately add the flour mix and milk to the butter/sugar blend.
Spread the mixture over the apples.
Bake for 45-50 minutes (or until lightly browned).
Sandy's Note: Great with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!
