BAKED
GARLIC-CHEESE GRITS

INGREDIENTS
4
cups water
1
tsp. salt
2
garlic cloves, pressed
1
cup uncooked regular grits
1
(12-ounce) block sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2
cup butter or margarine
1
tsp. seasoned pepper
1
tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4
tsp. hot sauce
3
large eggs, lightly beaten
Paprika
DIRECTIONS
Bring
first 3 ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan; gradually stir in grits.
Return
to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15
minutes or until thickened.
Add
cheese and next 4 ingredients, stirring until cheese melts.
Remove
from heat; let stand 10 minutes.
Stir
in eggs and pour into a lightly greased 11 x 7-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle
with paprika.
Bake
at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until set.
YIELD: 8 to 10 servings
