GOOEY BROWNIES
INGREDIENTS
Brownies
1 bpx (18.25 ounces) German chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine, melted and cooled
1 egg
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Topping
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
16-ounce box (1 pound) confectioners' sugar
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In medium bowl, mix together the cake mix, margarine, egg and nuts.
Spread
the mixture evenly in the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch ungreased metal
baking pan.

mixture will be thick)
To prepare the topping
With
a mixer, beat together all of the topping ingredients until smooth.
(the
mixture will be thin)
Pour it over the cake batter in the pan.
Bake
for about 40 minutes or until the cream cheese topping turns lightly golden;
(do
not overbake)
Remove
from the oven and cool before cutting into bars or squares.
(the
topping will remain somewhat gooey)
YIELD 24 bars
