Onion Sauce For Sausages
(From Executive Chef, Nick Sundberg)
Try this warm sauce on everything from bratwurst to hot dogs.
Ingredients
2 tablespoons Olive oil
3 medium Onions, peeled, halved and sliced
1/2 cup Ketchup
1/8 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon Chili powder
1 cup Water
Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onions. Cook until lightly brown (about 10 minutes). Add the remaining ingredients. Mix well and slowly bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 8 minutes. Serve warm. Store covered in the refrigerator.
Makes about 1 1/2 cups
