Pecan Tassies
Ingredients
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 egg
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dash of salt
Tart shells (recipe below)
Powdered sugar (optional)
Directions
Combine first 6 ingredients; mix until blended. Spoon mixture into tart shells, filling three-fourths full.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until browned.
Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Makes 2 dozen
Tart Shells
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 (3-ounce) package cream cheese
1/4 cup PLUS 3 tablespoons butter, softened
Directions for Shells
Combine flour, cream cheese, and butter; stir until blended.
Shape dough into 24 balls and chill.
Place chilled balls in greased 1-3/4-inch tart pans, shaping each ball into a little shell.
Makes 2 dozen
