Snickerdoodles
Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar; packed
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2-3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Mix margarine, shortening, sugar and eggs together. Blend in dry ingredients.
Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Roll balls in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
Place rolled balls 2 inches apart on ungreased baking pan. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove from pan immediately. Cookies will look uncooked when done and will have little cracks on top.
Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
