White Sauce

Ingredients

2 tablespoons butter or margarine

2 tablespoons flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon pepper

1 cup milk

Directions

Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat, blend in flour, salt and pepper. Mix well. Slowly stir in milk.

Return to medium heat and cook 5 to 8 minutes, stirring constantly until thick and smooth.

Makes approximately 2 cups
